Time Line Therapy
TimeLine Therapy is a technique that involves activating your subconscious mind. The method has its roots in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). The therapy helps release negative emotions including anger, guilt, fear, sadness, limiting beliefs, and shame. It uses subconscious learning and hypnotic regression to release negative emotions, such as anger, sadness, fear, guilt, and shame.
History of Time Line Therapy
Dr. Tad James developed Time Line Therapy in 1985. Your subconscious mind stores and encodes all your experiences and memories. Through this, you can have a record of time. Memories are stored in a linear form in the subconscious mind, which is referred to as the TimeLine. You can identify your TimeLine in a state of light trance with your eyes closed, pointing at the past’s direction and then the future and finally create an imaginary line between the two points.
How Time Line Therapy can help clients?
Unlike in most emotional release techniques, you can get rid of chains of emotions at a go when using Time Line Therapy. The method gets to the root cause of a past problem as opposed to treating the symptoms of a particular event. This makes it possible for you to get quick and long-lasting results in clearing negative emotions attached to the past. You can thus, be able to move forward and achieve your future goals once your limiting beliefs and negative emotional issues from the past have been cleared.
Time Line Therapy involving complex conditions such as depression, post-traumatic stress may require an extended period. The most significant advantage of this technique is that you proactively deal with a problem instead of talking about it. The method is usually combined with NLP and clinical hypnosis to provide a robust therapeutic solution. Time Line Therapy has proved to be useful in dealing with conditions based on stress, anxiety, and depression.
The importance of releasing negative past emotions
Psychoneuroimmunology (mind-body medicine and PNI) studies indicate that unresolved negative emotions can negatively impact on physical health. Additionally, your perception and response to stress can be significantly affected by how you perceive unresolved emotional issues, which can also have an impact on the intensity of the stressful experience.
Yoga and meditation may prove useful in dealing with stress, but only in the short term. However, they do not clear past painful emotions, which, later, water down on their short term benefits. It is important to note that TLT only clears past negative emotions and not memories. Memories, good or bad, should be left intact since they are useful to help chart the way forward into the future.
Time Line Therapy is an effective method in the treatment of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder among other conditions. It is relatively easy to master the basics of this technique on your own, which helps in empowering you to use it on your own in the future.
